Terms and Conditions of the Internet Braford Heifer Sale
By bidding on a lot in this internet auction, the bidder affirms that he/she has read and fully understands these terms and conditions of the sale and agrees to abide by said terms and conditions.

Terms of Sale: Cash or approved check. Send 20% of the selling price of each lot to the sellers within two weeks of the sale date.  The balance is due when the heifers are picked up.

Registration: All heifers are registered with United Braford Breeders and each will be transferred to the buyer at the seller's expense.

Health: All heifers will have the customary respiratory and Clostridial vaccinations.  Given the opportunity, they will also have calfhood vaccinations for Brucellosis.

Horns: Every effort will be made to distinguish horned from polled heifers before the sale. There is no guarantee that those initially identified as polled will not develop scurs or horns at a later date.  No heifers will be dehorned prior to the sale so that buyers can have heifers dehorned by their method of choice (cosmetic or otherwise).
Viewing: All of the heifers can be viewed in the pastures at Wayne Boozer's Farm near Douglass (Nacogdoches County), Texas.  Call 936.560.3483 or 936.569.4872 to set up a time to view the heifers. We are very flexible in our scheduling and look forward to showing you our cattle.

Delivery: Heifers will be picked up or delivered at the buyers’ expense. We will keep the heifers on their dams until contemporary group weaning weights are recorded (all animals in group must be at least 160 days old). We plan to work and wean calves at two different times: around July 4 for those calved by January 20 and around September 1 for those calved after January 20. You can pick up your heifers accordingly. Or, if you purchase a heifer that can be weaned at the early date but prefer to leave her on the cow and pick her up at the second date, just let us know.

Guarantee: Overfeeding show heifers is a common malady that often negatively affects reproductive as well as milking performance.  Therefore, heifers haltered and fed high-energy feed for an extended period cannot be guaranteed to be breeders.

Flush: The sellers reserve the right to flush any heifer in the sale one time at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.
Minimum prices and sale order: We have provided the firm managing the internet auction with minimum (starting) prices for the heifers. They say that their sale procedures do not show the minimum prices until the bidding actually begins. This will be very early on Saturday May 10.  Click on this link to a list of minimum prices of the sale heifers.  We reserve the option of rearranging the sale order prior to the sale close out. We feel that this sale procedure works best for the buyers if the most active lots close out first. Please take the time to read about the Sale Procedures at the link below. It will be an advantage to learn about and utilize proxy bidding.

Thunderstorm R Cattle Company and Wayne Boozer Brafords will donate 10% of the selling price of the high-selling heifer in this sale to the Texas Junior Braford Association.  This donation will be used to defray some of the cost of maintaining Braford breed recognition in the TCCA heifer division.
