If the name isn't a dead giveaway then
glance at the EPD profile and you'll recognize this heifer as a true performance
leader in the breed. Producing this kind of high-performance Braford
hasn't come easy and if you take the time to study the pedigree you'll recognize
two top cows produced by embryo transfer as well as some AI work. I don't
know what kind of dollar value you can put on performance numbers like this
heifer possesses -especially if you want to improve
performance and the supporting numbers in your herd. She's out of a
two-year-old heifer and she's still outperforming most calves in her
pasture. Any breeder who is serious about breeding performance cattle with
the numbers to back them up needs to try to put this female in
their herd and eventually put her in an ET program to expand her
influence. Study Braford EPDs a little and you'll realize what a
unique find this heifer truly is. Her total maternal or M&G EPD of 20
puts this heifer in the top 1% of the breed.
We'd prefer
to keep this heifer in our performance-oriented program. We are starting her at
$2500 and won't be a bit disappointed if we don't sell her at that and get to keep
her.
